Surf Spot: Costa Rica, Talamanca, Caribbean, Grape Point.
What's it like
Ocean surfing: a long sweet left that often walls and tubes. A point reef break that, when large, cranks out tasty 10 foot drops. 80°F all year round, inside a national wildlife refuge. Excellent backdoor connection finish. Underneath ancient rainforest trees with turtles, manta rays, and dolphins. Can be throwing or dead flat anytime of year. Pure Life.
How to get there
Drive from San Jose to Limon, then head south on the only road and keep going along the coast. It's 6 km past funky Puerto Viejo.
Locals
A mix of locals and tourists from everywhere. Never crowded except during Easter Week.
