(November 8, 2013)- Team Dagger athlete Pat Keller took first place overall and third place in the short boat competition at the 18th annual Green River Narrows Race last weekend. This year’s first place finish marks Keller’s third time winning the Green Race since 2006. His time of 4:14 was six seconds faster than the second place time.

Held on the steepest section of North Carolina’s Green River Narrows, the Green Race is one of the most respected and competitive creek races in North America. Despite its international reputation as one of the toughest kayak competitions, the Green River Narrows Race maintains the feel of a backyard event with nearly 150 kayakers and hundreds of spectators competing and partaking in the weekend fun.

In addition to Pat Keller, three other top ten kayakers in this year’s Green Race were paddling Dagger’s Green Boat. Team Dagger Manager Chris Gragtmans had a sixth place finish, Kyle Hull finished tenth, and Gerd Serrasolses placed third, all in the Green Boat.

“Dagger is excited for Pat Keller and Team Dagger for their exceptional accomplishments at one of the nation’s most challenging creek races,” said Dagger’s marketing manager Jessica Prescott. “The Green River Narrows Race embodies the sense of adventure, camaraderie, and the joy of kayaking that Dagger represents and we are proud to be a sponsor and to support our athletes at such a great event.”
