Miskolc, Sajó River, Hungarowave
Playspot, Hungary, Miskolc, Sajó River, Hungarowave.
What's it like
This is an old dam. The local paddlers re-built it, and now it's a not too difficult spot (at lower and medium water levels). At high water levels it's a huge, but easy, wawe.
The spot is nice for beginners and experts.
At good water levels (spring, or after heavy rain falls) you can do blunts and aerial moves. Under 80 cms you can only do flat moves (very easy!!).
There's only one danger: under 60-70 cm the spot is shallow!
Best times: end of March to maybe june. From April on, the water is warm.
Warning: the water not too clean!
How to get there
From Budapest, take the M3 to Miskolc, then the M30. At the end of the highway, go to Miskolc city, across the Sajo bridge (ca 5 minutes) and turn right (road 26) to Bánréve. Drive 2 kms and when you see the a brick building (water-house), turn right.
