What's it like
A big and fast breaking wave and hole - not very dangerous, but not for beginners because it is very retentive.
It works between 200 to 400 cumecs (ten months per year). It has an eddie line only on the right side, but it is easy to catch. Absolutely all wave and hole moves are possible here: Blunt, Helix, Triky Woo, Mc Nasty, Panam...
How to get there
The spot is easy to find: it is situated just downstream of the Frieira Dam. From the A-52 Vigo - Madrid, in Cañiza take direction Crecente. Crecente is a very small town with 500 people and a big hydro power plant. There is only one road that crosses the river in the direction of Padrenda, and on this road you will see signposts for Frieira Electric Power Station.
There are 3 Airports at a 1 hour driving distance: Santiago de Compostela, Vigo and O Porto (Portugal). Cheap Flights are available from most major airports in Europe.

Locals
No problems with fishermen, rafters, spectators, aggresive farmers or land owners. Only friendly people and Portuguese and Spanish paddlers.

This is the spot elected by the Spanish Canoe Federation for the 2008 Euro Championships, and in 2007 the Eurocup and Spanish Cup.
