If not, they might have fresh squid at the end of the first pier by MBK, plus other types of seafood as well as the shop next door that has fresh abalone.

I was out Saturday and have a waaay different report there was plenty of squid. I grabbed around 50 in a half hour or so and went fishing. There’s patches of squid from the coast guard beach to the red can. Most of it is  suspended 30-70ft down. I found it most abundant on Saturday just before the aquarium in 115ft of water but it moves around of course. You will have much more success if you leave your squid jig still for 3-4 seconds after it’s at the right depth before lifting up. Lifting up and down repeatedly is not the way to do it, let it sit for a few seconds before lifting.  Also, white glow beads, in my opinion, work better than green. Coyote bait and tackle has these sweet finesse squid jigs made by p-line for 10 bucks and they open at 6am it might be worth stopping by on the way down it’s in south San Jose/Morgan hill.
